We would like to present you a biking tour, which takes place in the celestial mountains of Kyrgyz republic. It is a perfect chance to feel the nature, because you will cycle in the places that are so far from busy civilization. Your route will pass along pristine mountain gorges where it is still possible to meet genuine nomads. You will see yurts - nomadic felt dwellings on your way. Yurts are the Kyrgyz mountain houses that are exclusive and their owners will invite you for a cup of tea or kumis (national staple drink).
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
You will be met by your guide in Manas International Airport and accompanied to Bishkek (the capital city of Kyrgyz Republic). Transfer from the Airport to Bishkek city takes 30 minutes. Upon arrival in Bishkek you will start the day with a nice breakfast. You will have a rest after accommodation in the hotel*** that is situated in the tranquil part of the city. Today an excursion will be organizes to Ala - Archa Natural Park, which is situated 45 km. south Bishkek, on the Kyrgyz ridge (a spur of Tien - Shan), in the Gorge of Ala-Arch. To observe this famous gorge you will go on the top of the mountain. Transfer to Bishkek. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Overnight stay is in the hotel***.
Day 2: Bishkek - Kochkor - Sarybulak
In the morning we start our trip to Kochkor village by car via Orto Tokoi water reservoir. At the Kochkor village you will meet a family that shows you the way our national felt carpets are produced. You even can create your own carpet together with them! Also you will visit Kyrgyz Handicraft museum in Kochkor village. Then ride on an asphalt road to Sary Bulak village (2310 m. alt., 38 km). Transfer (7 km, 2390m. alt.) by bike on dirt road to confluence of Kara-Kudjur and Biulioomiu rivers. Overnight stay will be spent in the tent camp.
Day 3: Sarybulak - Kichi-Naryn
This day is easy one. You will ride along the Balgart and Kichi - Naryn Rivers. Riding is on the dirt road. Near the Kichi-Naryn River in the forest, overnight stay is in tents. This area is well-liked among the nomads since ancient time. The Kyrgyz shepherds with all their relatives were coming to this area. As a big family all of them were going from one place to another with a great amount of livestock. The Kyrgyz nomads are very hospitable and like to meet travelers. Some Kyrgyz tribes conclude 1000 yurts and even more!
Day 4: Ride (63 km) Kichi-Naryn - Naryn town
Breakfast. After that we cycle down to the village of Kichi - Naryn (2351m. alt.), which is located 4 km. away from Kichi - Naryn and Naryn Rivers confluence. You will cycle to the town of Naryn (2050 m. alt.) along Naryn River. The road to Naryn will amaze you with its magnificence and remarkable mountains. The whole way passes along the incredible gorges and you will have many stops for taking photos. Naryn town is long narrow; it was built right along the gorge near the longest river in Kyrgyz Republic - Naryn. This town is situated very close to the mountains, at the altitude of 2800 meters above the sea level. Easy day. Cycling is by the main road. We will take lunch on the road. As nomads, this night you spend in yurts! Yurts are nomadic habitations, which are made out of wood without using a single nail and felt.
Day 5: Transfer or Ride Naryn - Son Kul Lake
This day you can be transferred or you can cycle over the Kurtka Pass (3243m. alt.) to the 2nd biggest lake in Kyrgyz Republic - Son Kul. Son Kul Lake is situated at an altitude of 3016 meters above sea level and surrounded by the mountains. It is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyzstan. Herders of the Naryn region come to the lake to use it as grassland. The Kyrgyz nomads started to come to this fantastic area with their families for relaxation and rest. The first part of cycling to the entrance of the gorge is with a slight descent, but easy. We will enter a narrow gorge with high sharp rock walls, in some places up to 200 meters through a narrow spot. Here a steep ascent to the pass begins. The descent is easier and shorter. Upon our arrival, you will be free to walk around and take pleasure in lake's virgin nature and its environs. Dinner is in the collapsible nomadic dwellings - yurts. Yurt represents wooden skeleton, covered with thin felt mats. Overnight stay is in yurt camp, at the altitude of 3016 m. a. s. l.
Day 6:
Son Kul Lake
Today we have free time in the Kyrgyz paradise after long bicycle journey. You will have an excellent chance to explore nature and the lifestyle of the local nomads by yourself. Optionally you can ride on a horse along the lake's shore, or just relax in the atmosphere of wild and calm natural world. It is a great opportunity familiarize with nomadic traditions and mores. We will walk among the Mountains of Tian - Shan where every nomad invites you to his yurt to try a piece of bread and drink kumis - national staple drink made of mare's milk that is fermented. You will spend this night in the tent camp.
Day 7: Ride Son Kul lake - Kyzyl Korgon canyon (80km)
Breakfast. After that we will cycle in the sacred stones direction. These ancient (dating back to 800 B.C.) stones are with carvings. After visiting the site of petroglyphs we leave Son Kul and cycle through Kara Keche Pass (3381m. a. s. l.) to the Valley of Djumgal. Upon arrival we will have walking in the region of high mountains, snow peaks, rocks and red canyons. Overnight stay is in the tent camp.
Day 8: Ride Kyzyl Korgon - Kyrk-Kyz pass 3223m
Today we will see different color rocks, pastures, panoramas. We pass near the Kizil Oi (red canyon) village. It is a small poor village in the mountains and you will have time to walk there to see the country side life of Kyrgyz people. On the way to the village you will see our famous red canyons that are completely different from other mountains in Kyrgyzstan. This place always impresses travelers and all of them want to come back there one more time. The night is in the tents.
Day 9: Ride Kyrk-Kyz pass - Ter Jailak pass 2446m - Toluk village (50km)
Our today's rout will be difficult enough. En route we will meet the Kyrgyz herdsmen on the summer pastures (
jailoo in Kyrgyz). They come to this place even nowadays and you can see their way of life. The Kyrgyz nomads always glad to communicate with foreign guests and they are very hospitable. You could see their felt abodes and ask them about their life. It will be also possible to try national drink - kumis. Kumis is made of mare's milk that is fermented and it has really unusual taste. Overnight stay is in tents.
Day 10: Ride and transfer to the Toktogul village
After having breakfast we will start our cycling. The road has an abundance of fantastic views and you will never forget them. You will be carried away by the amazing scenery offered through views of the untouched nature. When you are there it becomes evident that the best creation on the planet is natural world. The chauffeur will drive behind us. Lunch. Transfer to the Village where we can take a shower. Optionally we can drive to the artificial lake. Free time. Night is in the home stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Bishkek city
In the morning we will drive to Bishkek city. You will be carried away by the amazing scenery offered through views of the untouched nature. In the city you will have free time to go shopping and to walk in the capital. In the evening you will have a dinner in the café. This night you will spend in the hotel***.
Day 12: Transfer to the airport
Transfer to the International Airport of Manas according to your flight details.
